And how God had a plan for Squantos life even through some tough situations and through his many adventures.He was supposed to leave so that he could return to help the Pilgrims. I recommend this book, as I said, aroud Thanksgiving to learn about why we celebrate Thanksgiving. Learning about squanto from this book and then hearing about squanto in another book reinforced her understanding of Indians and Pilgrims. He teaches his way of life to the Pilgrims and without that knowledge the Pilgrims would have run out of food.Easy read for kids. He still goes on and finds comfort in helping the Pilgrims. Tells about the first Thanksgiving as told from an Indians perspective as he travels around England and returns home to find his village gone and though his people were either taken for slavery or died from a sickness.
